What is Sam's Labs?
Sam's own streaming setup for family and friends: movies & shows, music and audiobooks, plus a way to request new things. It all works at home and away.
- One account for everything. The same Sam's Labs username and password work in every app, on the web and on phones and TVs.
- On websites you can sign in with your username or your email.
- In music apps, always use your username (not your email).
Your username is the one you chose when you asked for an account.
Jellyfin
Movies, TV shows and live TV. Your watch history and progress are saved.
- Web: jellyfin.samslabs.org, then your username (or email) and password.
- Apps: the official Jellyfin app (Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, LG, Samsung), Swiftfin (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) or Streamyfin.
- In the app, the server is
https://jellyfin.samslabs.org.
On a TV? Choose Quick Connect in the TV app, then approve the code on your phone at jellyfin.samslabs.org (your profile → Quick Connect). No typing with the remote.
Navidrome
The music library, with playlists and favourites.
- Web: navi.samslabs.org (you sign in on the Sam's Labs sign-in page).
- Phone apps: Navibeat, Amperfy or play:Sub (iPhone), Symfonium or Tempus (Android), Substreamer (both). Computer: Feishin or Supersonic.
In the app, add a server:
Server https://navi.samslabs.org
Username: your username (not your email)
Password: your Sam's Labs password.
App won't sign in? Sign in once at auth.samslabs.org, wait a minute, then try again.
Audiobookshelf
Audiobooks and podcasts that remember your place on every device.
- Web: abs.samslabs.org → “Login with Sam's Labs”.
- Apps: the official Audiobookshelf app (Android, iPhone); on iPhone also SoundLeaf, ShelfPlayer, Plappa or Prologue; on Android also Lissen.
- In the app: server
https://abs.samslabs.org→ “Login with Sam's Labs” → sign in on the page that opens.
An audiobook app without the “Login with Sam's Labs” button needs a separate password — just ask Sam.
Requests
- Movies & shows: movies.samslabs.org → sign in with your Sam's Labs account (same sign-in as music). Search for a title to see if it's already here, then tap Request. Sam approves each request; once approved, most titles show up in Jellyfin within a few hours. Brand-new or rare ones can take longer.
- Music: music.samslabs.org → sign in with your Sam's Labs account. Search for an artist or album and tap Request; it starts downloading right away and is added to Navidrome, usually within minutes to a few hours. Some rare albums can't be found.
- Audiobooks: books.samslabs.org → sign in with your Sam's Labs account. Search for a book or author and tap Request (or Request ebook). Sam OKs it, then it downloads by itself and shows up in Audiobookshelf.
- Need more? Log in to the full music site (DroppedNeedle). It uses the same Sam's Labs sign-in.
No app needed — these websites work well on your phone.
Account basics
- Password: change or reset it at auth.samslabs.org (“Reset password?”; reset links work for 48 hours). At least 12 characters with an uppercase and a lowercase letter, a number and a special character.
- Unused for 60 days? Your account is paused (nothing is deleted; you get a reminder a week before). Switch it back on at samslabs.org/reactivate.html.
